It’s a bit like a launch of a new vessel. The hull is fully painted, the ship’s superstructure is in place, the engine is installed. The ship is in the water, all good. But before it can get underway, the ship goes to the quay, and now the 1,000 little details that are essential for daily operations still need to be taken care of.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to take Fleettracker to the next level, addressing the various regulations surrounding CO2 and greenhouse gases. We’ve implemented new, event-based reporting, mapped the new bunker management system with all possible emission factors and biofuel blends in the database, and adapted the Daily Report software accordingly to meet the new reporting requirements.

We’re now putting the individual pieces together, testing, implementing final improvements, integrating monitoring scripts, and writing instructions. Our biggest challenge: converting existing data to the “new world” because, ultimately, the transition should be as seamless as possible for our customers.

As part of this work, we also updated the interface to DNV Emission Connect. Now, with Fleettracker, we can offer event- and BDN-based reporting with DNV, as well as with other verifiers such as Swiss Climate and Lloyd’s Register.

For our Fleettracker customers, this is an important milestone for future-proofing the implementation of GHG regulations. This provides the foundation for reliably mapping MRV, ETS, FuelEU, and IMO DCS, allowing our users to focus on the day-to-day operations.

Over the next few weeks, we will gradually migrate the first vessels in Fleettracker to the new version in close collaboration with our customers. Once everything runs smoothly and the monitoring software gives the green light, we have reached an important milestone!
